What is the aim of KidZKlub?

TO HAVE FUN!!!

What age is KidZKlub for?

KidZKlub is designed for children aged 5-11 years.

Some of the older children like to continue coming beyond this age, and we encourage them to take on a role of helping some of the younger children.

When/where is KidZKlub?

The first Saturday of every month 10am – 12 noon in the Steyning Centre (very occasionally we need to change this because of events beyond our control, in which case we will give the children a leaflet in advance).

The cost is £1 per child.

In July we have a summer party, usually with a bouncy castle and other activities. In December we have a Christmas party. KidZKlub does not meet in August.

What happens at KidZKlub?

KidZKlub is different every time. Usually we have a theme and the various activities will be centred around this theme. Normal activities include:

  • Craft
  • Music/singing/dancing
  • Story
  • Games (including team games)
  • Watching film excerpts/screen tests
  • Drama
  • We celebrate children's birthdays each month

Sometimes we make time for children to pray about things which they are thankful for, or which concern them.

As well as each individual KidZKlub session having a theme, we often aim to cover a sequence of related topics over a period of time. Past series have included: the miracles of Jesus, well-known Old Testament characters, meanings of funny words (forgiveness, grace, prayer, ...).

We provide simple refreshment about half-way through KidZKlub. This is usually a fruit squash and a couple of biscuits.

Who are we and why do we do it?

As Christians we believe it is important for children to hear the message of the Bible, understand the important Christian principles that many of us were exposed to when we were younger, and be aware of who Jesus is. Most importantly, we try to do this in an atmosphere where the children can enjoy themselves.

In an age when fewer children attend Church on a Sunday, we believe these Bible stories still have important messages which are relevant to our lives today.
