The Safety of Your Child
All leaders are "CRB checked" for your children's safety. CRB is the Criminal Records Bureau - a government agency which checks for previous convictions that may relate to care of children. Repeat CRB checking is undertaken every three years (although this is not mandatory).
All reasonable steps are taken to ensure your child is safely looked after and supervised at all times. Many of the games involve running around and other physical activity, and craft activities may involve the use of scissors. We will intervene to stop children behaving in a manner which, in our judgement, would be liable to result in injury to themselves or others. Of course we can't guarantee that the odd bump won't occur occasionally. We will make every attempt to contact you if child becomes upset or gives any other cause for concern.
Note that there is currently a childrens' nurse and health visitor, a physiotherapist, a paediatric doctor and a teacher on the KidZKlub leadership team!
Contacting You
So that we are able to contact you for any reason concerning the welfare of your child during KidZKlub, we will take contact details from you at first registration. We will ask you to update these details periodically. If your contact details change, it is your responsibility to make sure we are aware of this.
Data Protection Act
We will hold the details you have given us on our database, which is only ever visible to KidZKlub leaders. This data will be revised annually, and details will be deleted if we know that children are no longer planning to attend. You are welcome to request to see the information we hold concerning your children (although this may not be possible during a KidZKlub event if we are busy with other activities).
Photographs
We occasionally take photographs of the children during KidZKlub. Sometimes this is an integral part of the morning's activity (e.g. part of a craft 'make'). Sometimes photos are taken for publicity or display purposes (so we can show others what a great time we have). We will not use any pictures of your child in any way without your consent, and names of children are never associated with photographs.
Insurance
KidZKlub is covered for public liability insurance by Upper Beeding Baptist Church, to a limit of 5,000,000 GBP.
